Asia is lagging behind in #vaccination as vaccine supply constraints and logistical challenges hobbled inoculation rollout plans. #APAC’s share of #vaccines administered #worldwide fell from around 30% in January to 24% in mid-March despite eight Asian countries starting their inoculation programs in February. Israel remains the leader in terms of the pace of vaccination, surpassing 100 doses per 100, while the world average is around 4 doses per 100. The #US, #UK and #European four largest #economies are well above the world average, while all in #Asia are below the world average, except Indonesia (10.5). The lagging pace will likely affect any possibility of easing cross-border travel restrictions as widespread immunity will be difficult to reach by this year. 🔗 For the latest economic information about #APAC, follow our Asia-Pacific economist Bernard Aw, or check out our website: https://lnkd.in/guuhkvx #economy #globaltrade
